The opening bout of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10, Week 1 card featured a middleweight clash between Jon Kunneman and Joe Kropschot.
In hopes of earning a UFC contract, both fighters decided to go all out right from the opening bell, trying to deliver an absolute slugfest.
Kunneman landed the bigger shots, controlled the pace for the majority of the first round, and took every risk he could have. Kropschot, on the other hand, used his reach to his advantage. He punished Kunnerman with his jab, a variety of leg kicks, and body work.
Round 2 started on a high note for Kropschot as he got a takedown right away. However, he failed to capitalize on it. Later in the round, the undefeated Kunneman dropped him with a powerful right hook and immediately hunted for a submission. However, when that attempt failed, Kunneman began walking his opponent down, looking like the fresher fighter, as his crisp combinations bloodied Kropschot.
Round 3 began with Kunneman looking to send Kropschot to the shadow realm with a monster overhand right, but the shot missed the mark every time. Kropschot, on the other hand, maintained a higher output, mixing punches and kicks to dismantle Kunneman for the majority of the stanza.
In the final seconds, Kunneman secured a takedown, but Kropschot quickly transitioned and set up an armbar. He dislocated Kunneman’s arm, but the undefeated fighter refused to tap.

After getting his hand raised, Joe Kropschot promised UFC CEO Dana White that next time he fights, it will for sure be a finish.
