Tottenham Hotspur are engaging in daily talks to sign Manchester City star Savinho, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Brazilian didn’t play any part in Manchester City’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat against Arsenal on Sunday, and struggled to make an impact throughout the 2025-26 campaign, featuring for just 821 minutes across the entire Premier League season.
However, the winger did manage to impress when given the opportunity, with former Man City boss Pep Guardiola lauding him as “incredible” after he scored the final goal in a 3-0 victory against Crystal Palace back in May.
The 13-cap Brazil international was also a consistent source of assists during his debut campaign in the Premier League, setting up ten goals in 29 appearances in the 2024-25 season.
Roberto De Zerbi‘s side, on the other hand, lacked a reliable playmaker in the Premier League last term, and not a single player was able to muster up more than five assists.

Having also lost Manor Solomon to West Ham United this summer, the Lilywhites could do with bringing in another winger this summer, and they are showing no signs of letting up in their pursuit of Savinho.
Tottenham in constant talks to sign Savinho
In a post on X, Fabrizio Romano has revealed Man City left Savinho out of their Community Shield squad because he “wants” to join Tottenham before the September 1st transfer deadline.
Spurs are holding talks to sign the 22-year-old “on a daily basis”, and they have already submitted a £85m offer for his services, which is thought to match City’s asking price.

Tottenham have also been in hot pursuit of Liverpool star Cody Gakpo, having made contact over a deal for the Netherlands international, who is capable of playing out wide and through the middle, and impressed for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
However, Romano has made it clear that signing Gakpo will not impact a move for Savinho, saying: “For Tottenham, I keep telling you guys, Savinho and Gakpo, Gakpo and Savinho, Savinho and Gakpo, plus a centre striker. This is the idea at Tottenham.
“Pedro Neto is a backup in case something happens for Savinho, something happens for Gakpo, Pedro Neto is a backup, but he’s not the top priority.”
Unlike the Man City winger, Gakpo was a fairly regular source of goals and assists in the Premier League last season, chipping in with 12 goal involvements in 36 matches, and the 27-year-old’s versatility is an added bonus.
