David Gabriel Georges is the 247Sports Preseason Player of the Year in Tennessee for high school football’s 2026 season.
The 6-foot, 210-pounder is a senior running back at Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School.
In 10 games as a junior during the 2025 season, Gabriel Georges took 161 carries for 1,749 yards and 27 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.
“I think the scouting report for DGG wrote itself during his Week 1 matchup that was broadcast on ESPN,” said 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins. “He’s a violent finisher with rare juice, vision and balance at 225 pounds. There’s a reason the recruitment became what it did and that’s because DGG can take over games. Teams can’t tackle him.”
Do not be shocked if — or when — 247Sports’ No. 12 overall prospect and No. 2 running back eclipses the 2,000-yard mark this fall. Despite all eyes being on him, he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. So far, so good this season — he led Baylor School to a season-opening win over Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy with a performance that included 179 rushing yards, 65 receiving yards and three scores on the ground, not to mention multiple highlight-reel plays throughout the night.
Gabriel Georges announced his Tennessee commitment July 22 live on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel. In a close recruiting battle against Ohio State, “DGG” chose to stay closer to home and suit up in Knoxville, Tennessee, for coach Josh Heupel and the Vols. He is the headliner of what is a loaded class headed to Rocky Top.
“I mean, it’s wonderful to see his maturation — not just as a football player, but I think you guys saw him sitting in here, and just the gleam in his eye and how happy he is,” Baylor School coach Erik Kimrey told GoVols247 of Gabriel Georges. “He’s just a joy to coach.”
