Rejoice, high school football fans. Another year of prep gridiron action is finally upon us. While not every state has officially kicked off their 2026 season, the first two weeks of have not disappointed as we approach Week 0 of what ought to be another entertaining stretch of action at the collegiate level. That means it’s time to assemble the top group of Friday night stars at each positions.
After tallying the votes from our scouting team, plus our panel of 247Sports experts, here are the prospects accompanying the 247Sports High School Football All-America Team along with prospects worthy of an honorable mention nod.
National Player of the Year: RB Landen Williams-Callis
The Richmond (Texas) Randle running back is on the precipice of Texas high school football history with 7,554 rushing yards and 125 rushing touchdowns in his three-year career, marks in both categories that have risen year-over-year. The senior runner stands 3,828 rushing yards away from the all-time mark in the Lone Star State, and just 692 rushing yards shy of the Houston career rushing yards record set by his cousin, Jacquizz Rodgers. His offensive efforts have been a driving force behind Randle’s consecutive 5A D2 State Championship appearances, posting a 31-1 record along the way. Expect the speedy Williams-Callis to guide Randle through their reclassification up into 5A D1 action.
Honorable Mention: EDGE DJ Jacobs, QB Elijah Haven, RB David Gabriel Georges
QB: Elijah Haven (Alabama commit) — With a senior season still to be played, Haven has already found a home in the Louisiana high school record book. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound signal-caller accounted for 73 total TDs last season with 62 of them sailing through the sky as a passer willing to challenge windows across the field. Both marks established new state single-season records. Adding to his state-record 180 career TDs could propel Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham School to a third consecutive Division III Select state championship game. The towering dual-threat quarterback has earned the distinction of our selection for Player of the Year in Louisiana.
