Tyran Stokes named Kansas, Kentucky and Oregon as his three finalists in November. In the four months since, there has been little movement in his recruitment. That has led the Jayhawks, Wildcats, and Ducks to navigate the transfer portal while reserving significant NIL money and a starting spot for the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 class.
Delays in top recruitments aren’t uncommon for elite prospects. Still, Stokes’ process is taking longer than usual. The past three No. 1 overall recruits all committed by November. In the 2026 class, Stokes is the only top 25 recruit who remains uncommitted.
247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi and analyst Travis Branham shared the latest insights into Stokes’ recruitment, including the current leader and when the finalists might expect a final decision, on The Assist with Kyle Tucker.
