Rangers are now ready to intensify their move to sign Bobby Clark from Red Bull Salzburg when the summer transfer window swings open.
Rangers ready to intensify Clark move
The reality of Danny Rohl‘s job truly set in against Celtic last weekend, as Rangers saw their title hopes dashed for the second week on the bounce. Questions have been raised about the manager’s future ever since, but he’s been quick to insist that the 49ers still have full faith in his ability.
It’s now up to the 49ers to prove that backing in the transfer window, perhaps starting with a former Liverpool gem. According to Football Insider, Rangers are now ready to intensify their move to sign Clark from Red Bull Salzburg, who are ready to accept a cut-price deal.
The 21-year-old has finally found his feet on loan at Derby County this season following a tough spell in Salzburg. Now, the Rams are keen to rival Rangers and land a permanent deal – sparking quite the race.
It could leave Clark with quite the decision to make. It wasn’t so long ago that Celtic were reportedly after his signature, but it’s now those at Ibrox who are pushing.
With £8m likely to be freed up by the Gers’ decision to let Andreas Skov Olsen leave instead of triggering his buy option, a name like Clark is not out of their reach.
As an investment, the young midfielder is certainly worth welcoming this summer. Any doubts over his ability should be put to bed after his spell at Pride Park this season.
Rangers should launch Clark move
With Derby sniffing around, Rangers have got no time to waste. They should launch their move to sign Clark as soon as possible and welcome a star who could be at the centre of their side for years to come.
His ability can be summed up by the praise he once received from Jurgen Klopp. The former Liverpool boss told reporters: “Obviously, we have a squad where everybody is needed. We are not like 25, 26 [key] players. But on the other side, it opens up opportunities, and I’m really, really happy with the boys Stefan [Bajcetic] and Bobby [Clark].”
“I’m not sure they would be that close to the first team already at 17 years old if we would have them all [the whole squad] available, and then now they make real steps. It’s unbelievable, every day in training. So that’s good.”

As a duo, Clark and Nicolas Raskin would light up the Scottish Premiership. That partnership alone would make chasing the former’s signature all the more worthwhile.
