Chicago (Ill.) St. Patrick Top100 defensive lineman David Folorunsho committed to Notre Dame on May 15. The 6-3, 280-pounder chose the Fighting Irish over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Georgia, Penn State, Texas Tech, and many others across the country.

In Folorunsho, Notre Dame landed 247Sports’ No. 79 overall player in the country, No. 7 defensive lineman overall, and No. 4 recruit in his home state. The industry-generated composite rankings list him at No. 43 overall nationally and No. 3 at his position.

So, how did head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive coordinator Chris Ash, and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge get it done? Why is he calling South Bend home for the next three to four years?

He spoke with 247Sports.
