MJ Curry currently ranks as the No. 105 overall player in the 2027 class. However, after two strong sessions on the AAU circuit, he has emerged among the recruiting cycle’s rising prospects.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Loganville (Ga.) Grayson currently holds three stars but is expected to earn his fourth in the next rankings update.

Curry is averaging 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the Atlanta Celtics.

He has been especially impactful on the defensive end, using his size, athleticism and high motor to make an impact. His defensive versatility, slashing ability, scoring and budding playmaking give him two-way potential.

While in Mishawaka, Indiana, Curry discussed his recent development and the growing interest in his recruitment.

“I’ve been focusing on shooting more consistently, being aggressive getting to the rim, and knocking down free throws when I get fouled,” he said of the areas he has improved.

Much of his impact stems from his competitive mentality.

“Playing defense, I love it,” Curry said. “Stopping the best player and killing them at the same time.”

Recruitment activity has increased significantly for the coveted Southeast prospect.
