West Ham United were relegated from the Premier League on Sunday, despite defeating Leeds United, and Crystal Palace are now planning to sign two of their star players.

West Ham relegated after Tottenham win against Everton

West Ham were relying on a favour from former manager David Moyes on Sunday, but the Scot was unable to guide his Everton side to a victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, falling short in a 1-0 defeat.

Consequently, the Hammers have been relegated from the Premier League, which means it could be difficult to hold onto some of their most important players in the upcoming transfer window.

Mateus Fernandes, for instance, has been attracting plenty of interest, with Manchester United recently engaging in talks to sign the Portugal international, who could command a hefty transfer fee.

Palace, on the other hand, were never in any real danger of being relegated, but they only finished six points above Nuno’s side, which suggests reinforcements may be needed in the summer, and two West Ham stars have now emerged as targets.

Crystal Palace plotting raid on West Ham

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are interested in signing El Hadji Malick Diouf, having been keen on a deal for the left-back before he made the move to the London Stadium last summer.

Man United are also eyeing a move for the Senegalese defender, who has remained a key player for the Irons throughout the campaign, making 32 Premier League appearances.

Alongside Diouf, Steve Parish & co may also look to bring in Jarrod Bowen, should West Ham be prepared to cash-in for a suitable fee, with a number of Premier League clubs now lining up to secure his signature.

However, it remains to be seen whether a deal will be possible, given that the Hammers want to retain their captain beyond the summer, as they look to secure a return to the top flight at the first attempt.

Bowen, who scored his side’s second goal in the 3-0 victory against Leeds United on the final day, is the highest earner at the London Stadium, raking in £150k-a-week, whereas Diouf is on the comparatively more modest salary of £35k-a-week.

Despite West Ham being relegated, Bowen enjoyed another impressive campaign on a personal level, chipping in with nine goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances.

  • 238 appearances
  • 65 goals
  • 54 assists

Having been left out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, the 29-year-old may need to exit the London Stadium in order to get his international career back on track, and having proven himself over several years in the top flight, he could be a real coup for Crystal Palace.
