Recruiting for the 2027 college football class is in full swing as high school seniors prepare for their final seasons. Nineteen of the top 25 recruits are already committed with several more nearing decisions, and elite classes are beginning to take shape among the top 10 in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
While plenty of blue-chip prospects remain available, several traditional powers are noticeably absent from the current top 10: Ohio State (No. 11), Georgia (No. 22), Texas (No. 26) and Alabama (No. 44).
Meanwhile, four programs that finished with top 10 classes in the 2026 cycle are back near the top in 2027: USC, Notre Dame, Miami, and Texas A&M. Mike Elko, in particular, is well-positioned to secure his second top-five class in the last three cycles. The Aggies have 17 commitments for 2027, 14 of whom are four- or five-star recruits.
