North Carolina is welcoming nine newcomers to its 2026-27 roster — with the possibility of more additions — under first-year coach Michael Malone. While top 25 transfer Neoklis Avdalas and highly touted international prospects Sayon Keita and Alexandros Samodurov have dominated the offseason headlines, incoming four-star wing Kevin Thomas has quietly flown under the radar.

Thomas, rated as the No. 85 overall recruit and No. 33 small forward in the 2026 class, has NBA-caliber size and athleticism at 6-foot-6, 195 pounds. He also became a much more reliable 3-point shooter during his senior season at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Sagemont Prep.

He may not be on the radar of many UNC fans or most college basketball observers just yet, but NBA scouts are already reportedly “intrigued” by his potential heading into the 2026-27 season.
