Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur have now joined a huge race to sign an impressive star, who may be on the move whether his club like it or not this summer.
Aston Villa and Tottenham battling to sign midfield star
There are already several transfer stories waiting to explode into life this summer, and one of them could have quite the knock-on effect. That, of course, revolves around the future of Morgan Rogers. The Aston Villa man could be heading for the exit door to ease the club’s PSR concerns and complete a move to a side of Arsenal’s stature.
His departure would be a major blow for the Villans, but it would also cause a problem for Nottingham Forest amid rumours centred around Morgan Gibbs-White’s future.
According to SportsBoom, Aston Villa and Tottenham are racing to sign Gibbs-White this summer and Forest are facing an ‘unavoidable’ sale now that the Englishman has just two years left on his current deal.
The Villans are the team most actively pressing ahead for a move, but Spurs are one of several sides lurking as a huge race is breaking out for his signature.
Indeed, the Tricky Trees could have no choice but to cash in this summer if Villa, Spurs or, for that matter, any other club come swooping in for the midfielder in the coming months.
This comes just one year after Evangelos Marinakis acted swiftly to tie Gibbs-White to a new deal and end Tottenham’s pursuit. Now, one summer later, the Lilywhites are joined by as many as five other clubs in a huge race to welcome their target.

Gibbs-White would be perfect Rogers replacement at Aston Villa
If Nottingham Forest really are facing an unavoidable sale, then their Midlands rivals should do everything to take full advantage. In the same summer that they could lose Rogers, Aston Villa have the perfect replacement right before their eyes.
Unai Emery is reportedly a fan of Gibbs-White and, despite competition from Tottenham, who are looking to revive last year’s move, Aston Villa are prioritising a deal to sign the England midfielder.

There’s even an argument that Gibbs-White would be an upgrade on Rogers. The Forest star is certainly better on the goalscoring front and had no trouble creating chances last season, either. He is someone that Villa should go all out for.
