Wednesday’s update to the Top247 for the 2027 class brought significant movement in the top 10 of the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings. However, several traditional football recruiting powers were noticeably absent: Ohio State (No. 15), Georgia (No. 24), Texas (No. 26) and Alabama (No. 52).

With 26 of the 32 five-stars already committed, opportunities for major recruiting splashes are limited. Still, none of these four programs are expected to lower their historically high standards — all have finished inside the top 15 every year over the past decade.

So, should Buckeyes, Bulldogs, Longhorns and Crimson Tide fans start worrying? Is NIL money hurting their 2027 hauls or are all four programs still positioned for late-cycle pushes? 247Sports national recruiting analyst Tom Loy shares the latest insights on each class, and whether their fan bases should be hitting the panic button.
