Tottenham‘s negotiations with Brighton over Jan Paul van Hecke and Luka Vuskovic continue to dominate headlines.
The former remains one of Spurs’ priority targets and talks between the two clubs have been ongoing for several days.
Brighton have consistently maintained a strong position throughout negotiations and have already rejected multiple approaches for the centre-back.
However, Tottenham remain confident that Van Hecke wants the move and are continuing to work towards a compromise, which could be reached by Sunday.
The situation has become even more interesting because another player is now heavily involved in discussions between the two clubs.

Brighton have made no secret of their admiration for Luka Vuskovic.
The Seagulls recently submitted a bid worth around £30 million for the Croatian defender as they looked to test Tottenham’s resolve.
The proposal immediately highlighted just how highly Vuskovic is rated after a stellar campaign on loan at Hamburg, where he earned a spot in the Bundesliga team of the season.
Brighton clearly see him as a player with enormous potential, as do a host of other top sides, which reportedly includes the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and others.

That being said, Tottenham’s stance appears crystal clear.
Tottenham set Luka Vuskovic price tag with Brighton talks ongoing
According to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, Spurs are highly unlikely to sanction a deal at Brighton’s current £30m valuation.
As per his information, via The Spurs Express on X, Tottenham would demand a figure in excess of £60 million before seriously considering the sale of Vuskovic.
That valuation is more than double Brighton’s initial offer and demonstrates the level of faith Spurs have in the teenager’s future.
Vuskovic is said to be highly regarded internally as one of the most exciting young players currently at the club.
The 19-year-old has generated significant excitement among supporters thanks to his performances during his development years and many believe he has the attributes needed to become a long-term fixture in Tottenham’s defence.
His physical presence, composure in possession and ability to read the game have all drawn praise from scouts across Europe.
Those qualities help explain why Brighton have been so determined to pursue him.
The Seagulls have built a reputation for identifying elite young talent before their value explodes and clearly see Vuskovic as another player capable of following that path.
Interestingly, Bridge’s report also backs other claims that the player himself is keen to leave Spurs and join Brighton, possibly due to the minutes on offer.
That could become an important factor if discussions continue to develop, but Fabian Hurzeler’s side will need to stump up much more cash first.
At the same time, negotiations over Van Hecke remain active.
It is possible that both situations continue to influence one another as discussions between the clubs progress.
For now, Tottenham’s message appears straightforward — Vuskovic is not available on the cheap.
