Mauricio Ruffy scored the biggest win of his career at UFC Freedom 250, defeating Michael Chandler in the first round.

Both fighters hit their mark in the early going, but it was Ruffy who took an advantage near the halfway point of the first round after connecting with a spinning heel kick. Chandler got his hand up, but the force still knocked him off balance, allowing Ruffy to unleash a brutal body blow against the fence.

Chandler circled away and looked to survive the round with less than a minute to go. However, Ruffy had other plans.

Ruffy unleashed another spinning heel kick that sent ‘Iron’ down to the mat. A follow-up uppercut was all it took for the referee to step in and bring a stop to the bout, giving us our third straight knockout on the night.

Official Result: Mauricio Ruffy def. Michael Chandler via TKO (spinning heel kick to uppercut) at 4:29 of Round 1.
