Leicester City have responded as Arsenal submit an official bid for English sensation Jeremy Monga, according to The Times.
Arsenal’s summer transfer plans continue to dominate headlines as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen a squad capable of challenging on multiple fronts next season.
The Gunners have been linked with several high-profile attacking targets in recent weeks as they search for more firepower ahead of another Premier League title defence.
One player firmly on Arsenal’s radar is Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.

The England international has emerged as one of the club’s leading targets after an outstanding campaign for Unai Emery’s side.
Arsenal have continued to be linked with a move despite the significant valuation attached to Rogers, which could come to around £100m.
The attacker remains under a long-term contract at Villa until 2031 after penning fresh terms last year, meaning any deal would likely require a substantial offer in that ballpark.
Bad news for Trossard: Arsenal agree fee to seal first summer signing
Leandro Trossard could be on his way out of Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal have also been credited with interest in Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
The Argentina international has become one of the most talked-about names in the European transfer market this summer, with Barcelona already rebuffed as reports claim he’s seeking a move away from Atletico.
The former Man City forward would represent a major statement signing if a deal became possible, but Diego Simeone’s side are poised to make life very difficult.
Arsenal’s recruitment strategy is not focused solely on established stars, with the club also investing heavily in young talent.
One of the most notable names is, of course, Leicester’s Monga.
The teenage winger has attracted attention from a number of top clubs following his breakthrough at the King Power Stadium.
Monga became one of the youngest players to feature in Premier League history before continuing his development in the Championship, and his performances have placed him firmly on the radar of leading clubs across England.
Man City, Chelsea and Man United have all been credited with interest at various stages.
Arsenal, however, appear determined to win the race.
Arsenal get response from Leicester City after Jeremy Monga bid
According to Gary Jacobs of The Times this morning, Arsenal have seen a £5 million bid for Monga rejected by Leicester City.
The report states that Leicester are seeking a larger package for the 16-year-old, and Leicester had initially valued Monga at around £15 million before lowering their demands to a figure closer to £10 million plus a sell-on clause.
Arsenal’s proposal reportedly included a lower percentage of future sale profits than Leicester were hoping to secure.
Despite the setback, negotiations are continuing between the two clubs over the ‘excellent‘ Englishman.
Arsenal are understood to favour a swift agreement rather than allowing the process to drag towards a tribunal, and Leicester’s financial situation has placed additional focus on player sales this summer.
The Foxes are expected to listen to offers for several players following a difficult period both on and off the pitch.
That could eventually open the door to further discussions over Monga, who has already agreed personal terms to join the Gunners (Ben Jacobs).
