Anders Lee is moving on from the New York Islanders
Pierre LeBrun: Anders Lee told the New York Islanders this morning that he is going to free agency. The Islanders improved their offer last night, but it wasn’t enough. It’s not saying he can’t return after he checks out the open market.
Stefen Rosner: Believe that it came down to term, with Lee looking for three years and the Islanders not wanting to go past two.
Michael Russo: Would expect the Minnesota Wild to be one of the teams interested. Could see him taking his time and not signing quickly on July 1st.
Patrick Kane will definitely get some free agent interest
NHL Watcher: Chris Johnston on TSN on pending UFA Patrick Kane: “I do think there’s going to be a fair amount of interest… Keep an eye on whether it’s his hometown Buffalo Sabres, does he ponder a return to the Chicago Blackhawks?
One that I would mention that’s been rumoured though is a fit with the Toronto Maple Leafs. At this point in time it doesn’t seem to me that’s actually something that’s likely to materialize”
NHL Rumors: Finding a Darnell Nurse fit hasn’t been easy for the Edmonton Oilers
