Penn State‘s quarterback recruiting took twists and turns before Will Wood committed in the 2027 class. The situation played out over months.

With coach Matt Campbell and his staff in place and able to evaluate 2028 quarterbacks in the winter, spring and June camps, the recruiting board is clear, and Aliquippa (Pa.) Hopewell’s James Armstrong is atop the list as he readies to announce his decision Thursday afternoon.
