Glasgow Rangers could find themselves in a position where they have to find a replacement for Nicolas Raskin in the summer transfer window.
Despite still having two years left on his contract at Ibrox, the Belgium international is attracting interest from teams in some of Europe’s major European leagues.
Hull City, following their promotion to the Premier League from the Championship, are one of the sides at the front of the queue to sign the midfield star this summer.
LaLiga outfit Real Betis are one of the teams from further afield who are looking at him as a potential target, which shows that there are multiple clubs eyeing up a move for the Gers star.
He will not come cheap to Real Betis or Hull, though, as the Scottish Premiership giants are looking for a fee of £20m to cash in on him in the coming weeks.
Rangers pushing to sign £4.8m star for Derek McInnes
After the Belgian star produced six goals and seven assists in 33 appearances in the Premiership for the Light Blues last season, losing him would come as a blow to new manager Derek McInnes.
However, the club are already working behind the scenes to bring in a player who could be Ibrox’s next version of Raskin in the middle of the park.
According to the Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are interested in a deal to sign Partizan Belgrade central midfielder Vanja Dragojevic in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the Light Blues are now pushing to reach an agreement with the Serbian team to bring the young star to Ibrox in the coming weeks.
It adds that the club have already had an offer of £3.8m turned down for the Serbia international, and that they remain in talks with Partizan over a deal for his services.
The Daily Record reveals that an extra £1m, taking the total package to £4.8m, could be enough to tempt them into cashing in on Dragojevic this summer.
Why Vanja Dragojevic can be Rangers’ next Nicolas Raskin
Losing Raskin before the end of the transfer window would be a blow for Rangers because he has proven that he can perform to a high level in the Premiership over the course of several years, since his £1.5m move from Standard Liege in January 2023.
The Light Blues took a risk when they snapped him up from the Belgian Pro League, not knowing how he would adapt to Scottish football, and they must take a similar risk with Dragojevic.
At the age of 20, the Serbian star would arrive at Ibrox with big potential and years ahead of him left to fulfill it, but his performances in the 2025/26 campaign also suggest that he can make an instant impact on the pitch.

Like Raskin, Dragojevic is a dynamic and complete midfielder who can contribute in all phases of play, defensively, in transition, and offensively, as a number eight.
Whilst he did not quite average as many tackles and interceptions per match as the Belgian in the 2025/26 campaign, the youngster did average an eye-catching 3.8 tackles and interceptions per game in the Superliga in the 2024/25 season.
In nine appearances in his first year in the division, Dragojevic also won 53% of his ground duels and 69% of his aerial duels, whilst making 6.6 ball recoveries per game for the Serbian outfit.
His performances that term show that he has the potential to be just as combative as Raskin in midfield, whilst his contributions at the top end of the pitch last season show that he can emulate the Belgian’s offensive output.
Another aspect of his game that will appeal to McInnes is his leadership. Rangers will lose one of their leaders if Raskin leaves Ibrox this summer, as he has worn the armband in James Tavernier’s absence on several occasions.
Dragojevic is the current club captain at Partizan, despite being in his second senior season at the age of 20, and would bring leadership skills to the club, at least once he is settled in and comfortable with the language.
Therefore, Rangers can allow themselves to sell Raskin by signing the Serbia international, who has both the footballing qualities and the leadership potential to be McInnes’ own version of the Belgian next term.
