On June 26, Notre Dame received some incredible news in the form of a commitment from Lake Charles (La.) Sam Houston Top100 offensive lineman Albert Simien. The 6-4, 280-pound prospect from the class of 2027 chose the Fighting Irish over in-state LSU, Texas A&M, Alabama, Nebraska, and many others.
Head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive line coach Joe Rudolph landed one of the top overall players in the country. 247Sports slots Simien as the No. 41 overall player nationally, No. 3 interior offensive lineman overall, and No. 4 recruit in his home state.
So, what led to his commitment to Notre Dame? Why did he decide to call South Bend home for years to come?
Simien spoke with 247Sports about his decision.
