UFC veteran Kevin Holland has spoken about how many fights he would like to have before eventually riding off into the sunset.

As we know, Kevin Holland is one of the most entertaining fighters on the UFC roster. While he certainly isn’t to everyone’s taste, he stays active, he gets in there with anyone that the promotion desires, and when he’s on top form, he can put just about anyone away.

Kevin Holland isn’t the first name on the list when you talk about some of the most dangerous fighters out there. Alas, that isn’t the role that he plays in mixed martial arts, and instead, he is a great hand to have around for the Ultimate Fighting Championship in a time where tenured stars are dropping like flies.

In a recent interview, Kevin Holland had the following to say about what he hopes the future holds for him.

Kevin Holland discusses his future

“The next fight will be the 30th UFC fight,” Holland recently told MMA Junkie Radio. “After 30, I want to get to about 38. Thirty-eight is pretty good. Don’t got to go to 40. So eight or nine more after the next one, then that’s a wrap. I usually fight two or three times a year, not more than that. It shouldn’t take long to get that done.

… For a second, it was 40. I think Donald Cerrone did 38. So why wouldn’t I do 39? I didn’t do it as good as him. But I did my number. I did it pretty fast, and it leaves me room to get out before I’m too old. That’s a smooth-sailing victory for me. … I’m just looking at wins and losses, overall. Wins and losses. I’m going to win the next and we’ll be close to even. I think his was a little smoother and a little better. So props to Donald Cerrone. There’s only one.” Quotes via MMA Junkie

For Holland, his next test comes in the form of the undefeated Jacobe Smith later this month. At the age of 33, it doesn’t feel like a push for the gold is in his sights – but at this point, what really matters is his ability to keep pushing forward.
