Leeds United‘s transfer business is well and truly underway. They’ve followed up the addition of Harry Wilson by splashing the cash and signing Tarik Muharemovic.
The central defender is the second-most expensive transfer in the club’s history at £34m and will act as Daniel Farke‘s replacement for Pascal Struijk.
That does not mean they’re done on the transfer front, however. The Whites have now got Oumar Solet in their sights and he could arrive to form a new-look back three.

What could Leeds’ back three look like next season? |
|
|---|---|
|
Tarik Muharemovic |
Losing Struijk was a major blow, but replacing him with Muharemovic is fantastic business from Leeds. The towering defender will likely find himself at the heart of Farke’s back three, where his duel success will be at its best. The new signing won 64.4% of his duels last season. |
|
Joe Rodon |
Whilst Struijk has departed, Joe Rodon very much remains an important player at Leeds. He could potentially stand next to two new signings next season and his leadership will be more important than ever if that is the case. Ever reliable in a Leeds shirt, the Welshman is a key man. |
|
Oumar Solet |
If Solet arrives to add the cherry on top, then Leeds will have a solid backline to rely on. The Udinese man even scored three goals last season, providing plenty of set-piece threat. On top of that, he has become an excellent passer – maintaining a pass success of around 89% last season. |
Leeds have recruited well so far this summer and the addition of Solet would be impressive once again. The Udinese star is a man in demand, but the Whites have just received a major boost.
Leeds gifted green light to land Oumar Solet deal
As reported by Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Leeds have been gifted the green light to sign Solet at a bargain price this summer. The defender has just one year left on his current deal and is available for just £20m as a result.
It’s a major boost for the Yorkshire club, who just splashed out to welcome Muharemovic. They’re now got the task of beating Inter Milan and Juventus to a deal, as they look to complete Farke’s new back three.
When factoring that Solet is at the peak of his powers as a 26-year-old centre-back, £20m could quickly look like the deal of the summer if Leeds secure his signature.
Leeds hold in-person talks to sign Julian Brandt
With the backline almost sorted, Leeds have also turned their attention back to Julian Brandt. Reports earlier this week went as far as to claim that the Whites have held in-person talks to sign the German, who is currently a free agent.
The former Borussia Dortmund man would certainly be a statement signing, especially on a free deal. With Muharemovic and Wilson secured with Solet potentially on his way, adding Brandt on top of that would reflect an excellent summer of business at Elland Road.
