The price of Tom Willander for Shane Wright should be too much for the Vancouver Canucks
Sekeres and Price: Frank Corrado, when asked about the Seattle Kraken asking for Tom Willander from the Vancouver Canucks in a Shane Wright trade. That price may be too much for the Canucks.
Matt Sekeres: “Reports were the Seattle asked for a young defenseman, Tom Willander for Shane Wright. What do you think of that?
Corrado: “I don’t, I wouldn’t want to give up on Tom Willander for, for Shane Wright. I like Willander. I think he’s a, he’s a, he’s an NHL defenseman, and he’s going to get better.
NHL News: Jet Greaves, Jason Roberston, and John Marino
And like, I would love to try, and, like if you’re Vancouver, I would be thinking I want to bring in Shane Wright because I want to see what he’s got. And I’m happy to bring in a right-handed centerman, and I want him to work hand in hand with Manny Malhotra because there’s such a, you know, there’s so many parallels between, you know, the, the centerman who’s trying to figure out the league and Manny Malhotra. Who really figured out the league on a lot of different levels and had to morph his game, you know, so many different times over the course of his career.
But I’m like, you almost want to take a flyer. You want to put it into a situation where you’re like, I’ll take a chance on Shane Wright, and giving up Tom Willander is much more than taking a chance. That is making it a priority.”
