Long winning streaks were hard to come by during the 2026 high school baseball season.
Kouts (Ind.) owns the nation’s longest active streak after rebounding from a season-opening loss to win 32 straight games and capture the Indiana Class 1A state championship. The Mustangs will enter the 2027 season with a chance to chase the state record of 59 consecutive wins, set by Don Mattingly-led Evansville Memorial from 1978-79.
While no team approached that milestone this season, the past five years have produced several of the longest winning streaks in high school baseball history. St. Mary’s Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) won 84 straight games from 2021-23, followed by Eaton (Colo.) with 74 from 2022-25, Silo (Okla.) with 60 from 2021-23, Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.) with 59 from 2022-24 and Webster (Wis.) with 58 from 2018-21.
St. Mary’s Prep begins the 2027 season with the nation’s second-longest active winning streak at 27 games, matching the mark held by Woonsocket (R.I.).
National champion Trinity (Louisville, Ky.) also enters the season on a roll, carrying a 24-game winning streak.
