Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic High School is home to a terrific quarterback prospect from the 2028 class, Owen Herrick. The 6-2, 185-pound gunslinger is ranked as the No. 29 quarterback in the nation and No. 12 prospect in his home state, according to 247Sports.
As a sophomore, Herrick turned heads with a strong performance. He had 2,469 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He then had a really nice showing at the Elite 11 regional in New York this offseason, showing off a big, live arm, a ton of accuracy, and clean mechanics.
On the recruiting front, things have been heating up for Herrick. Back on May 26, Illinois extended an offer. That was all part of a hot spring for him, as multiple offers came his way. Nebraska, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and others entered the race.
Herrick spoke with 247Sports about his interest in Illinois and where things stand at this point in his recruitment.
