Arguably the top player in his home state, West Des Moines (Iowa) Dowling Catholic Top247 offensive tackle Carter Barrett is among the top priorities for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2028 class. The 6-6, 305-pound prospect is ranked as the No. 149 overall player in the nation, No. 20 offensive tackle overall, and No. 2 recruit in his home state according to 247Sports.
Barrett has an offer list with over 30 schools in play. Way back on March 8, 2025, Iowa and head coach Kirk Ferentz extended an offer and made it clear that he was going to be a top priority for them moving forward.
