There’s a clear focus at Tottenham Hotspur as deadline day approaches. Sign a striker and end what has already been a successful transfer window with yet more spending.
The Lilywhites have already handed Roberto De Zerbi a whole new backline and a new midfield. Now, they must welcome a number of attacking stars to deliver their manager a complete rebuild.
The rumours have been coming thick and fast in their search for a striker, so much so that even Victor Osimhen‘s been mentioned. The Galatasaray star has caught the eye of several Premier League sides, with Spurs among those to reportedly show initial interest.
If the Lilywhites want to end their summer spending with a bang, then signing the Nigerian would certainly be one way to do it. He’s scored 61 goals in 75 games for Galatasaray and is still considered to be one of the best strikers in the world. On paper, he’d be a transformative signing.
But Osimhen isn’t the only one on Tottenham’s radar. They’ve also been linked with moves for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun. Both strikers look to be heading for the exit door at their respective clubs, with the Chelsea man set to come at a premium price of more than £60m.

The numbers make for excellent reading as far as Tottenham are concerned, but that’s not stopped Tim Sherwood from putting another name forward. The former manager has tipped Spurs to sign another Premier League star instead.
Sherwood tips Spurs to sign “excellent” Kroupi
When asked about Tottenham’s striker targets, Sherwood exclusively told Football FanCast that he’d rather sign Eli Junior Kroupi than Osimhen, Balogun or Jackson.
The former manager claimed that Kroupi is ‘better’ than Osimhen and others, sharing that he believes he’s a ‘De Zerbi-type’ of player:
“I would pick Junior Kroupi. Because he’s a better player out of all of them, in my eyes. I think he’s what Tottenham needs. He’s a direct player.
“He’s a great age. He’s got pace. He’s got ability. I just think that if he’s picked up an injury, it seems to have put people off. But I don’t think the injury’s that great.
.
“He’d be big money, but they’ve spent big money. I just think he’s more versatile. I think he plays. He’s sharp. He plays on the front foot. He’s a De Zerbi type player.”
If there’s any concern that the Bournemouth man would struggle at a bigger club, Sherwood also shut those down.
“Some players go and never be able to. I just, I’ve just got a hunch when I look at the kid, he looks like, to me, like he will relish it. And I just think he’ll be an excellent signing. And if they sign him, I would be really encouraged.”
Of course, any deal will have to wait for the time being. The 20-year-old is not expected to return from injury until the end of October, which means that a move away from the South Coast will have to wait until January at the earliest.
Whether Spurs wait around or look elsewhere for striker options before the end of the month is now the big question.
