Leeds set to receive green light to sign in-demand star after in-person checks

Leeds United are set to be gifted a huge boost in the race to sign an in-demand star who’s already impressing at the 2026 World Cup.

The Yorkshire club are ready to enter the transfer market on the hunt for crucial reinforcements ahead of their second season back in the Premier League.

Following their success this time last year, welcoming Anton Stach, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and others, it looks like the 49ers are keen to back Daniel Farke in full once again.

Reports are claiming that they’re already interested in a move to sign Sporting Club’s Ousmane Diomande in what would be a blockbuster arrival to kick things off. It’s even been suggested that they’ve already agreed personal terms with the impressive central defender.

They’re not stopping with Diomande, either. Alongside the 22-year-old, those at Elland Road also want to sign further support in their backline – perhaps in an attempt to boost Farke’s back three system which transformed their fortunes last season.

With that being the case, it won’t come as a surprise to anyone in Yorkshire that Leeds are firmly in the mix to sign one of the most wanted stars in Europe this summer.

Club to grant Leeds green light in hectic transfer race

Alongside Diomande, the Whites have already received a major boost in pursuit of a World Cup star. According to TeamTalk, Midtjylland are set to give Leeds the green light to sign Lee Han-beom this summer.

The South Korean defender has already made his mark on the international stage, helping his country to a 2-1 victory over Czech Republic on the opening day. Now, after in-person checks from Leeds, he could be on the move.

In their ideal world, Midtjylland would be keeping hold of Lee. The reality is that he’s into the final 12 months of his contract, however, and they know that this summer is the best time to sell, hence why they’re set to hand clubs the go-ahead.

It’s set to spark quite the race in the coming months.

Leeds are joined by Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Brighton, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Napoli, AS Monaco and others in their battle to welcome the 23-year-old.

It’s becoming clear that the centre-back is one of the most in-demand players in Europe.
