Manchester United are once again turning their attention towards attacking additions and could welcome a star player who would instantly break a Premier League record.
Man Utd working on more additions after Ederson
Man United are keen to get their business done as early as possible this summer, having already agreed a deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta. The Brazilian midfielder is set to arrive for around £39m and will commence INEOS’ much-needed rebuild in the middle of the park.
They’re not standing back and admiring their work at Old Trafford, either. The focus has instantly turned to the next target who could arrive. Mateus Fernandes and Elliot Anderson are two names who stand out, but it remains to be seen whether United will match the former’s £85m price tag or beat Man City to a £100m deal for the latter.
The focus is also turning back to Michael Carrick‘s frontline. Despite heavy investment last summer, Man United could still swoop in to welcome an exciting attacking star who would instantly become the fastest player that the Premier League has ever seen.

Man Utd working on deal to sign rapid forward
As reported by Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, Man United are now working on a deal to sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo from LOSC Lille. The versatile forward has emerged as an attacking option alongside the likes of Morgan Rogers, and instantly stands out for his electrifying pace.
The Belgian’s teammates have previously claimed that the forward has hit speeds as high as 39 km/h, while Fernandez-Pardo has admitted a more modest, yet still impressive, speed of 38.5 km/h.
Either way, it would be enough to make him the quickest player in Premier League history, with Micky van de Ven the current record holder at 37.38 km/h.

The most frightening part of Fernandez-Pardo’s speed is how well he uses it. The 21-year-old scored eight goals and set up another seven in all competitions for Lille last season, and is still so full of potential.
In a side which is quickly becoming known for exhilarating counter-attacks under Carrick, the rapid forward would simply thrive.
