After trying and failing to solve their attacking problems with the addition of Yan Diomande, Liverpool have shifted their focus towards ending their midfield issues by landing a blockbuster deal.
The Reds have got it all to do this summer following such a disappointing campaign last time out and have already splashed out to sign Victor Munoz as a result.
The young Spaniard is likely to be the first of several arrivals, which could include an alternative to Diomande and Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga.

Credibility |
Liverpool certainly need a midfield addition this summer and whilst things have been quiet on that front, Eduardo Camavinga is a solid option. Real Madrid are looking to drum up some interest in their star in order to fund their own business this summer, so a move could make sense for all parties. |
|
Finances |
Camavinga’s Real Madrid salary is eye-watering, to say the least – earning just over £200,000-a-week. Alas, reports that Madrid are willing to sell their star for just £52m more than makes up for that. |
|
Insight |
The versatile midfielder has earned plenty of praise over the years, including from former Rennes sporting director Florian Maurice, who described him as “extraordinary” and “incredible”. |
|
Impact |
Liverpool’s midfield needs legs. Desperately. And after making over six defensive contributions per game last season, it’s clear that Camavinga would provide that, perhaps paving the way for Alexis Mac Allister to move in the other direction, having lost form last season but still attracting interest from Madrid. |
The Reds have already stepped up their pursuit of Camavinga and could finally get one back on Real Madrid by stealing one of their stars this summer.
Liverpool launch Camavinga move
According Spanish sources relayed by the Express, Liverpool have launched their move to sign Camavinga.
Anfield chiefs have reportedly held club-to-club talks with Real Madrid over a potential deal, with the Frenchman valued at just £52m this summer.
Ever since his training ground bust up with teammate Federico Valverde, several rumours have arrived over Camavinga’s Real Madrid future. Now, the Spanish giants have told clubs that they’re ready to sell their midfielder in a major boost for Liverpool.
On paper, that should make things routine, but Camavinga’s own stance complicates things. He still wants a future at the Bernabeu and has instructed his agents to rebuff any offers from elsewhere this summer.
Camavinga would be undeniable bargain for Liverpool
It seems impossible that Liverpool have such a passive midfield. It’s the opposite of what Jurgen Klopp built title-winning sides on. Last season, they were exactly that, however, as Arne Slot sleep walked towards the sack.
The arrival of Andoni Iraola should reintroduce the sound of heavy metal football at Anfield, but he needs some new and improved instruments to truly get the Reds drumming to the beat of success.

If there is even a small chance to sign Camavinga, Liverpool have to take it this summer. The Real Madrid star has won it all in Spain and is still just 23 years old. This is a player at the peak of his powers at the very top available for just £52m. It doesn’t get much better.
