Tottenham’s summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi has moved at serious pace, with the club committing to their most aggressive ever transfer window to back the Italian.

Spurs have already confirmed the arrival of Mateus Fernandes from West Ham (£85m) and smashed their club-record fee again to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle (£100m), with the latter midfielder becoming the new centrepiece of the project.

Alongside those two marquee deals, Spurs have also strengthened with Jan Paul van Hecke (£52m from Brighton), while Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka have all arrived on free transfers to add experience and depth.

After this plethora of deals, the north Londoners are reportedly aiming to strengthen their attacking options next, with Spurs’ spending showing zero sign of easing up.

Man City winger Savinho, who was a top target last summer, is one of their primary focuses again this summer, while Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi is also on their radar.

Now, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Tottenham have been offered another major attacking option.

Tottenham offered free Dušan Vlahović deal ‘in recent days’

As per his information, agents are actively placing the ex-Juventus striker into discussions with Premier League clubs as his future remains unresolved.

Bailey’s report for TEAMtalk suggests Spurs are one of the clubs who’ve been sounded out ‘in recent days’, as Vlahovic edges towards a potential free transfer after leaving Juve.

The Serbian forward, once one of Europe’s most coveted young strikers, struggled for consistent form in Turin but remains a proven goalscorer at top level when confidence and service align.

Football FanCast’s Verdict

Credibility

Graeme Bailey is a long-standing transfer journalist with decades of experience in football reporting, previously working for outlets such as Sky Sports, 90min and TEAMtalk. His career is built on sourcing information from agents and intermediaries, which means he is often early with rumours and exploratory interest. However, like many other reporters, some stories can prove accurate, while others remain speculative or do not progress beyond initial contact stages. As a result, his reports are generally treated as early intelligence rather than confirmed fact.

Finances

A free transfer for Vlahovic would still be costly for Spurs despite no fee. Vlahovic’s salary expectations are consistently placed in the €8m–€12m net per year range, which translates to roughly £130k–£200k per week, depending on structure and bonuses. On top of that, agents are expected to demand a substantial signing-on fee, which is now standard for elite free agents, potentially pushing the overall package quite high.

Insight

Vlahovic emerged at Partizan before breaking through at Fiorentina, where his explosive finishing made him one of Serie A’s standout young strikers. A big-money move to Juventus followed in 2022, where he showed flashes of quality but struggled for consistency amid managerial changes, injuries and high expectations in Turin.

Impact

Vlahovic would offer Spurs a more natural penalty-box presence and an alternative to the injury-ridden Solanke, with stronger aerial ability. The Serb could also prove to be a more consistent goal threat than Richarlison, but that is assuming he rediscovers his best under De Zerbi.

Vlahovic is no stranger to Premier League attention either.

Back in 2022, he was heavily linked with Arsenal during his Fiorentina days, with reports widely stating he chose Juventus over a move to north London.

Why Tottenham could strike bargain with Dušan Vlahović

For Tottenham, the timing of this proposal is significant.

Even after heavy investment, there are still real questions surrounding the centre-forward position.

Dominic Solanke’s fitness record has been very inconsistent, while Richarlison continues to be linked with a potential departure as Spurs reshape their attack under De Zerbi.

That uncertainty leaves room for another striker to enter the squad.

Vlahovic, even with his inconsistencies in Italy, brings a profile Tottenham do not currently possess.

At 6 foot 3, he offers a physical presence in the box, strong aerial ability and direct finishing that can punish low blocks — something Spurs have occasionally lacked in tight Premier League matches.

You scored

out of 20

The 26-year-old has hit double figures in every single campaign since his breakthrough season at Fiorentina in 2020/2021, bagging 49 goals in 108 appearances for La Viola before scoring 68 in 168 total appearances for Juve.

From a financial perspective, a free transfer would also represent smart business after an already expensive window.

While his wages and signing-on fees would be significant, Vlahovic is yet to hit his peak years, and the numbers suggest he can be a prolific goalscorer on his best day.
