It’s not often that a Barcelona star becomes available, but available is exactly what Roony Bardghji is this summer and Everton have got just ten days to make their move happen.
The 20-year-old is still one of the best young players in Europe. He secured a move to the Nou Camp last summer off the back of an excellent rise at Copenhagen, in which he even scored against Manchester United in the Champions League – sealing a stunning 4-3 victory.
Things haven’t quite worked out at Barcelona, though it is worth noting just how difficult it is to exist as a young winger at the Catalan club at the same time as Lamine Yamal.
The Spaniard is very much seen as the next in line for a throne which has been vacated ever since the departure of Lionel Messi. Bardghji isn’t even among the heirs. Instead, it’s Everton who are well-placed to hand him his crowning moment.

Credibility |
With a move to Jack Grealish yet to advance following his loan spell, Everton need a new creator and a Bardghji would certainly tick that box. Given reports that Barcelona have set a deadline of July 27 for their youngster to leave and the Toffees have already made contact, this deal is very much one to watch. |
|
Finances |
Barcelona only signed Bardghji for around €2.5m (£2m) last summer and will surely want to make a profit at the very least this summer. That said, their 10-day deadline suggests that they would be willing to accept a relatively cheap offer just to get an exit sealed. |

Insight |
The winger has been hard-done by at Barcelona. He’s shown plenty of potential and was involved in six goals in just 10 starts in all competitions last season. One season after suffering an ACL injury, the Swede still has so much more to offer and could offer that to Everton. |
|
Impact |
Everton aren’t the only Premier League side interested in Bardghji. Leeds United, Aston Villa, Sunderland and Fulham are all also interested, but the Toffees have already opened talks to secure his signature. Welcoming the young winger could end their pursuit of Grealish, leaving his own future open for interpretation. |
The Merseyside club could land an absolute gem this summer.
According to reports in Spain translated by Sport Witness, Everton have made contact to sign Bardghji after Barcelona told the 20-year-old to secure a move by July 27.
The Spanish giants want the Swede off their books by the time that their pre-season tour commences, and it may also serve the Toffees to act quickly with a huge list of English clubs eyeing the young forward.
Everton pushing to sign Rico Lewis
It’s not just Bardghji on Everton’s agenda this summer. The Toffees are also targeting another young player who could be leaving one of Europe’s top clubs.
Reports are now claiming that they’re pushing to sign Rico Lewis from Manchester City ahead of next season. The versatile defender would certainly solve their left-back problem and after starting just four Premier League games last season, he desperately needs a move away from the Etihad.
It would be a statement of intent from Friedkin to sign both Bardghji and Lewis in the next month.
