Austrian featherweight Bogdan Grad is looking to get back in the win column after dropping two straight fights when he faces Dennis Buzukja on August 1 in Serbia.

Grad earned a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024 after producing one of the best fights in the show’s history against Michael Aswell Jr. “The Unleashed” followed that performance with a second-round TKO victory over Lucas Alexander in his UFC debut. However, his last two outings have not gone his way. In 2025, he dropped a unanimous decision to Muhammad Naimov before suffering a knockout loss to the surging Luke Riley.
on Choosing to leave austria:
As many fighters do after a pair of losses, Grad decided to make some changes for this training camp. One of only four Austrian fighters currently on the UFC roster, Grad had spent the previous 13 years training exclusively at ETTL BROS MMA in his home country. During an interview with me, he explained why he chose to seek out new training partners abroad.
“It’s the first year where I was out of my gym. I went to Thailand at Bangtao Muay Thai. Then I went to Poland and trained with a very good friend of mine, Patryk Kaczmarczyk, the KSW featherweight champion. And now I’ve gone to England and joined Great Britain Top Team.”
Grad also told me he has spent part of this camp training alongside Nathaniel Wood, adding that he has learned a great deal from the UFC veteran.

His opponent, Dennis Buzukja, is also looking to snap a two-fight skid. Buzukja earned his first UFC victory over Luke Matthews in 2024 but has since dropped back-to-back fights against Francis Marshall and Marcio Barbosa. When asked about the matchup, Grad explained where he believes he holds the advantage.
“I think I’m relentless and, with that being said, I think I’m going to overwhelm him. The pressure is going to be too much for him. I think I will either make him quit or it’s going to be a Fight of the Night.”
“The Unleashed” closed with a bold prediction, saying fans can expect either “a spectacular KO or Fight of the Night.”
