Tottenham‘s summer rebuild has been driven by major arrivals, but Roberto De Zerbi also needs to trim a squad carrying several bit-part players.
Yves Bissouma has already left after his contract expired, while Spurs declined the option to keep Joao Palhinha following his loan from Bayern Munich.
Several younger players have also moved on permanently, with Alejo Veliz joining Bahia, Alfie Devine signing for Preston and Will Lankshear moving to Middlesbrough.
Tottenham also accepted a major offer from Brighton for Luka Vuskovic, while Radu Dragusin joined Fiorentina on loan. Those departures have created space, but the biggest decisions are still to come.
Cristian Romero is expected to leave after five years in north London. Atlético Madrid have held talks with Tottenham, while Inter Milan have continued working on a deal of their own.
Richarlison’s position is also unclear.
De Zerbi has publicly admitted he cannot guarantee the Brazilian will remain, with Spurs exploring several attacking targets. Lucas Bergvall has attracted serious interest from Nottingham Forest after the additions of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes increased competition in midfield.
Manor Solomon was always another obvious candidate for the exit door.
The winger joined Tottenham as a free agent in 2023 after impressing during a loan spell with Fulham. He made six appearances for Spurs and supplied two assists against Burnley, but a serious knee problem brought his first season to an early end.
Solomon rebuilt his reputation at Leeds in 2024/25.
He recorded 10 goals and 12 assists across 39 Championship appearances, helping Leeds win promotion and scoring the late winner against Plymouth which secured the title.
That form still did not create a route back into Tottenham’s side.
Solomon spent last season on loan, initially with Villarreal before switching to Fiorentina in January. He returned for pre-season under De Zerbi, who previously coached him at Shakhtar Donetsk, and actually impressed, but that seemingly hasn’t done enough to earn him a future spot in the side.
Tottenham agree deal with West Ham to sell Manor Solomon
Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham have agreed to sell Solomon to West Ham.
The Hammers will pay £5 million up front, with another £2 million available through add-ons. A medical has been booked for today, meaning the transfer should move quickly if no problems emerge.
Solomon is set to sign a three-year contract with West Ham, who will also hold an option capable of extending the agreement until June 2030.
For Tottenham, the deal represents a clean piece of squad management.
They are banking a potential £7 million for a player signed without a transfer fee, while also removing another salary and creating room for De Zerbi’s preferred attacking additions.
Solomon leaves without ever receiving a sustained opportunity in north London, but his productive campaign with Leeds proved he can influence matches in the Championship.
West Ham are gaining a winger capable of carrying the ball, attacking defenders and creating chances from the left. For Spurs, the move closes another unresolved chapter as their summer overhaul continues.
