Landen Williams-Callis is the 247Sports Preseason Player of the Year in Texas for high school football’s 2026 season.
The 5-foot-7 1/2, 190-pounder is a senior running back from Richmond (Texas) Randle.
In 16 games as a junior during the 2025 season, Williams-Callis took 324 carries for 3,502 yareds and 59 touchdowns.
“Williams-Callis enters his senior season 3,828 yards away from the Texas career rushing record and only 692 away from the Houston career rushing yards record set by his cousin Jacquizz Rodgers,” said 247Sports national scouting analyst Hudson Standish. “The Texas commit is on the smaller side hovering around 5-foot-8, 190 pounds, but plays with uncanny toughness, contact balance, and make-you-miss ability to pair with legit track speed. Williams-Callis is projected to lead emerging powerhouse Richmond Randle to their third straight state title game in the UIL’s 5A Division I classification.”
“Williams-Callis is on pace to finish his career as one of the most decorated running backs in TXHSFB history,” added 247Sports national scouting analyst Gabe Brooks. “He plays above his size as an inside runner and run finisher, and provides home run-hitting ability and pass-catching acumen via incendiary athleticism.”
Williams-Callis has been committed to Texas since Aug. 1. He is set to play in the 2027 adidas Polynesian Bowl.
Offers started coming early for Williams-Callis, who was heralded before he ever took a high school snap.
A talented track and field athlete, Williams-Callis recorded several impressive times in the 100 and 200 meters and was a state qualifier in the 4×100.
