Wednesday’s update to the 2027 Top247 shook up the top 10 in the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings, with a wave of new five-stars and a flood of newcomers making major splashes. Movement was highlighted by a significant shift among the top three classes as Miami and Oklahoma battle Texas A&M for the No. 1 spot.
Twenty-six of the 32 five-stars in the 2027 class are already committed, leaving several traditional recruiting powers noticeably absent from the top 10 with waning momentum to climb back in: Ohio State (No. 15), Georgia (No. 24), Texas (No. 26) and Alabama (No. 52).
Meanwhile, five programs that finished with top 10 classes in the 2026 cycle are back near the top in 2027: USC, Notre Dame, Miami, Oregon, and Texas A&M. Mike Elko, in particular, is well-positioned to secure his second top five class in the past three cycles. The Aggies have 20 commitments for 2027, 14 of whom are four- or five-star recruits.
