The MMA community has reacted to Ciryl Gane’s Round 2 TKO victory at UFC Freedom 250 against Alex Pereira to capture the interim heavyweight title.
As the bout began, “Poatan” mixed up his strikes, landing high kicks and leg kicks, but Gane landed perfect counters and also tried to take the Brazilian fighter down.
In the final seconds of Round 1, Alex Pereira stunned “Bon Gamin.”
In the second round, Ciryl Gane attempted a takedown again on Pereira but was unsuccessful. By that point, however, “Bon Gamin” had already found his rhythm. He landed a perfectly timed left jab and followed it up with a right hook that rocked and dropped “Poatan,”
Pereira tried to recover by grabbing hold of Gane’s leg, but the 36-year-old showed no mercy and immediately went in search of the finish. While the 38-year-old worked his way back to his feet and moved toward the fence, Gane unleashed back-to-back blows, leaving the former two-division UFC champ barely conscious and forcing the referee to step in and wave off the contest, awarding Gane the TKO victory.
