Josh Hokit continued his climb up the heavyweight rankings at UFC Freedom 250, finishing Derrick Lewis in the second round of their highly anticipated clash.

Hokit came out with a kick-heavy attack and threw some big moves, while Lewis looked much more measured early on. However, none of that mattered two minutes into the scrap when Hokit secured an uncontested takedown and proceeded to pummel ‘The Black Beast’ on the mat.

With roughly 30 seconds left in the stanza, Hokit secured an arm bar, but had no idea how to finish it. That allowed Lewis to ride out the remainder of the round and make it back to his stool.

Lewis fended off an early takedown attempt in the second, but it quickly became clear that fatigue was setting in for Lewis. Sensing this, Hokit spent much of the round picking apart Lewis. With the seconds winding down, Hokit connected with a one-two that put Lewis on the canvas.

Hokit followed up with some ground and pound that forced the referee to step in and call for the stoppage.

Official Result: Josh Hokit def. Derrick Lewis via TKO (strikes) at 4:09 of Round 2.
