Everton have been handed a major boost as they look to solve their striker problem, with one target now ready to say yes to a summer move.
The Toffees were very nearly the finished product at times last season and it looked like they were destined for European football at one stage, before missing out.
Everton could see £40m bid accepted to sign their best striker since Lukaku
Everton have set their sights on a big-money move for a new talisman this summer.
When David Moyes performs his post-mortem this summer, he may accredit the blame for missing out on a place in the top eight to his frontline.
Whilst Iliman Ndiaye was once again impressive, it was a difficult debut campaign for Thierno Barry and Beto has never seemed like a long-term solution for the Toffees.

It’s a clear area of weakness that Everton are looking to address in the coming months, with targets like Birmingham City’s Jay Stansfield emerging.
Although the young forward has plenty of potential, though, the Toffees could do with a more proven name in the top flight and that’s exactly why they could sign a 26-goal alternative.

Everton preparing offer to sign World Cup star
As reported by TeamTalk, Everton are now readying an offer to sign Ayase Ueda from Feyenoord this summer. The Japan international is currently representing his country at the World Cup, but is reportedly ready to gift Premier League sides the green light to make their move.
After an excellent campaign in the Netherlands, it’s no surprise that the Toffees are interested in the forward. He ended the season with 26 goals to his name in all competitions and has more than earned a big move.
What certainly helps Everton’s pursuit is that Feyenoord have already named their price. The Eredivisie side are reportedly willing to accept offers worth around £30m, which should be well within the grasp of those in Merseyside.
If Moyes is looking for a clinical goalscorer, then Ueda is certainly his man. The 27-year-old reached 26 goals last season with an XG of just 18.9. Give the Japanese star a chance and he’s likely to be wheeling away in celebration just seconds later.
