Texas has landed a commitment from Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central three-star defensive lineman Tyler Alexander.

Alexander chose the Longhorns over other finalists Notre Dame, Georgia and Colorado.

The 6-foot-3 1/2, 315-pounder took official visits to all four programs before making his decision on Texas.

He was in Austin this past weekend for his official visit, which ultimately helped seal the deal for the Longhorns in this recruitment.

Colorado previously held the momentum in Alexander’s recruitment, but the South Florida defensive lineman was heavily considering each of the schools he took official visits to in June. As recently as last week, Alexander called Georgia the leader in his recruitment.

The Longhorns have taken an interior defensive lineman out of the Sunshine State for three consecutive cycles. In 2025, Texas took Port Charlotte (Fla.) four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles before taking Miami (Fla.) Northwestern four-star defensive lineman James Johnson last cycle.

Alexander totaled 46 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks as a junior, per MaxPreps.

247Sports ranks Alexander as the No. 63 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 37 best player in the state of Florida within the 2027 recruiting class.
