The return of The Opening Finals brought 120 of the nation’s top recruits to Nike’s HQ last week, making it a must-stop for talent evaluators.
While we came into the three-day showcase with plenty of background and scouting notes on each player, the best-on-best setting provided a unique opportunity to learn a little more about this pool of prospects. We got to measure and interview them at check-in, watch them compete against each other in drills and a 7-on-7 tournament, and see them take to coaching while interacting with NFL stars like Bryce Young, Malik Nabers, Jerry Jeudy, Tetairoa McMillan, Shedeur Sanders and plenty of others.
Some flourished. Others didn’t. Below are our superlatives for the marquee recruiting event of the summer.
