Conor McGregor most recently met former UFC two-division champion Alex Pereira.
The Irishman is returning to the octagon after five years, and in just a few hours, he is scheduled to run it back with Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329.
Yesterday, McGregor linked up with Alex Pereira backstage before the UFC 329 ceremonial weigh-ins. After shaking hands with the Brazilian, “The Notorious” lauded “Poatan.” He said:
“Alex, what’s up, brother… Strong boys. Good blood. Champion’s blood.”
The Dubliner then told Pereira that he is aware of the shots to the back of the head that Ciryl Gane landed at the White House event but urged “Poatan” to let it go and move on from that loss.
“You’re doing great, brother; keep going. Unlucky last time, back of the head. I see it. But let it go.”

What is next for Alex Pereira and when is he expected to return?
After a nightmarish heavyweight debut and failure to win the interim 265-pound strap, “Poatan” is back to the drawing board.
Alex Pereira, however, recently stated that he plans to spend the rest of his career in this new weight class and has no intention of moving down to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight throne. He’s “deadset” on returning in November, as per interviewer Shakiel Mahjouri.
All Pereira needs is a big win at heavyweight so that he can once more secure a title shot and attempt to attain three-division glory in the UFC.
