The Tennessee Volunteers just picked up one of the biggest recruiting wins of the 2026 cycle.
Facing some stiff competition from the Ole Miss Rebels and Ohio State Buckeyes, Josh Heupel and his staff pulled out a commitment from five-star running back David Gabriel Georges.
Gabriel Georges is originally from Canada, but he’s playing his high school ball in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at Baylor School.
He spent a weekend in early June in Knoxville taking an official visit with the Vols. There, he apparently met up with former Tennessee superstar running back Alvin Kamara, and he also reconnected with Tennessee freshmen, cornerback Jamyan Theodore and offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda.
Both Theodore and Osenda played with Gabriel Georges at Baylor School, and it’s worth noting that Marshall Manning, son of NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, is a freshman there as well and one of the five-star running back’s 2026 teammates.
The elder Manning was a consensus All-American at Tennessee before going on to have a Hall of Fame NFL career.
All that to be said, the ties to the Vols were deep for Gabriel Georges, so it’s no surprise that he committed to Tennessee on Wednesday.
