Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School five-star running back David Gabriel Georges announced his Tennessee commitment Wednesday, live on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel and CBS Sports HQ. This is a massive pickup for the Volunteers, as “DGG” instantly becomes the top-ranked recruit in Tennessee’s 2027 class. The Vols have moved up seven spots in the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings and now have the No. 23 class.

Gabriel Georges is a 6-foot, 205-pound ball-carrier who chose Tennessee over Ohio State and Ole Miss, among others. 247Sports slots him as the class of 2027’s No. 12 overall prospect, No. 2 running back and Tennessee’s No. 1 player. As a junior, he rushed for 1,749 yards and 27 scores, including a state title at the Baylor School. That came after a sophomore campaign where he totaled 1,103 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

So, how did Tennessee get this one done? Here is what sources told 247Sports about his pledge to the Volunteers.
