Jet Greaves and the Columbus Blue Jackets submit arbitration numbers
Elliotte Friedman: The Columbus Blue Jackets have submitted a $2.8 million number for their hearing on Thursday. Jet Greaves has submitted $7.5 million. The sides can reach a deal before their hearing starts, but once it starts, there can’t be a settlement.
The Dallas Stars re-sign Jason Robertson
Puck Pedia: The Dallas Stars have re-signed RFA forward Jason Robertson to a one-year, $12 million deal. All salary, no bonuses. He’s scheduled to become a UFA next July 1st, and isn’t eligible to sign a contract extension until January 1st.
Puck Pedia: The Stars are now $1.36 million over the cap with a 22-man roster and Tyler Seguin on the IR. They’ll need to send a player or two down to be compliant for their opening roster submission.
Robert Tiffin: “Stars can start the season under the cap without having to make any more trades.”
NHL News: Jason Robertson and Dallas Stars Agree on a One Year Deal
Brien Rea: On the signing:
“1. A 1-year deal now and a 7-year extension later is the same term if an 8-year extension was signed this summer.
2. Tyler Seguin’s contract and cap hit are up after this season.
3. What kind of season does Robertson have under this one-year deal, impacting his market value after this season? That’s the big factor.
4. A Heiskanen extension is looming in three years, as the defense market is about to get reset by Makar & Hughes.”
Jason Robertson, signed 1x$12M by DAL, is an elite scoring winger who uses his size and hockey I.Q. to contribute at both ends of the ice. A slow skater who supports the play in transition rather than driving it, with expert positioning and buildup passing. Excellent shot. pic.twitter.com/3TfyD7r4xl

He has a full no-movement clause immediately and in year one, a no-trade clause in years two through four, a 16-team no-trade clause in years five and six, and an 8-team no-trade in years seven and eight.
2027-28: $8 million
2028-29: $8 million
2029-30: $8 million
2030-31: $8 million
2031-32: $6 million
2032-33: $6 million
2033-34: $5 million
2034-35: $5 million
NHL Rumors: Fantilli, Red Wings GM Candidates, and Top Remaining Free Agents
Utah Mammoth PR: Marino after signing the contract extension:
“I think Ryan and Ashley, the job they’ve done creating a winning environment and a place players want to be… and then obviously the support from the fans.”
Brogan Houston: On Marino’s contract: “It’s a $2,350,000 raise from his previous contract, but it will only an increase of 0.55 percentage points in terms of cap occupancy under next year’s projected salary cap. Essentially, his paycheck changes significantly, but his share of the pie only increased slightly.”
John Marino, extended 8x$6.8M by UTA, is a two-way top four puck-moving defenceman who plays a stabilizing but not physical defensive game with good stickwork and the ability to turn 50/50 pucks into clean exits. An underrated break-out passer with great awareness. pic.twitter.com/684hrGuYlM
