Illinois remains a top contender for Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove three-star quarterback Oscar Sloan. The 6-4, 190-pound talent is ranked as the No. 37 quarterback in the class of 2028 per 247Sports and the No. 7 prospect in his home state.
Sloan was offered by the Fighting Illini back on May 11. To this point, he is a regular in Champaign. Sloan visited multiple times before picking up an offer and has been back to campus since receiving the good news from head coach Bret Bielema and his staff.
As a sophomore, Sloan completed 61% of his passes for 1,774 yards, 14 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He has offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Maryland, Mississippi State, and many others.
247Sports has been impressed with Sloan at multiple in-person evaluations this offseason. He was a strong performer at the Navy All-American Bowl Underclassmen Combine, as well as the Elite 11 regional in Indianapolis.
So, where do things stand with Illinois? Can the Fighting Illini land one of the Hoosier State’s top arms?
Here is what Sloan had to say to 247Sports.
