Bixby (Okla.) High offensive lineman Gavin Wilson was out fishing when he found out.
The 2028 front liner debuted inside the top-125 of 247Sports’ rankings. Wilson, a new four-star prospect, is now considered a top-seven interior line prospect nationally. He also rates as a top-two talent in the state of Oklahoma.
Completely unexpected, certainly deserved.
“I mean, man, it’s just amazing,” Wilson said. “It’s crazy to think about all these guys I’ve been able to put myself next to. To get here just working my butt off, it’s so crazy to hear.”
And this is just the start for the talented lineman.
While still somewhat new to the sport, Wilson carries a high ceiling. Just scratching the surface of his on-field ability, Wilson credits his coaches at Bixby for getting him to this point.
“I mean, to know that I didn’t even start playing football until seventh grade, it’s crazy to think that my coaches have been able to develop me that much,” Wilson said. “Develop me to where I’m top-125. And recruiting, it’s really just kicked off. I’m just super grateful that all of this has been able to be a part of my life.”
Wilson is very aware that the recruiting process will only consume more of his attention as time passes. That said, he looks forward to building relationships and seeing what the next level might look like.
