The five-star Nebraska commit announced in January that he would transfer to Millard South (Omaha, Neb.) for his senior season, where he is expected to produce big numbers in one of the state’s top programs.
Taylor replaces former Millard South standout Jett Thomalla, the two-time MaxPreps Nebraska Player of the Year who is now at Alabama. Thomalla led the Patriots to consecutive Class A state championships and threw for 7,148 yards and 105 touchdowns over his final two high school seasons.
Taylor led Carmel to an 8-3 record and delivered one of his best performances in a win over eventual Class 6A state champion Fenwick (Oak Park), completing 26 of 31 passes for 401 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 82 yards and another score.
Another memorable outing came in a 55-54 loss to Montini Catholic (Lombard) and five-star quarterback Izzy Abrams. Taylor completed 25 of 32 passes for 505 yards and five touchdowns, adding 66 rushing yards and three more scores. Abrams countered with 600 passing yards and four touchdowns.
