Celtic are gradually moving towards their first signing of the summer transfer window, with several stars already on their agenda.
The Bhoys have been forced to watch on as Rangers enjoy a rapid start to the window, welcoming Hearts’ captain Lawrence Shankland and then their manager, Derek McInnes.
Whilst both those at Tynecastle and their Old Firm rivals enjoy a managerial merry-go-round, however, it’s Celtic who should have the most stability, with Martin O’Neill still at the helm.

Celtic could replicate the success of signing Benjamin Nygren this summer.
That stability should go a long way towards reinforcements in the coming months, with names like Miguel Chaiwa now on their radar. The Hibernian midfielder is coming off the back of a solid campaign in the Scottish Premiership and could yet be the first to arrive at Celtic Park this summer.
It’s not just the Hibs midfielder that could arrive, however. Alongside Chaiwa, the Bhoys have got other familiar faces on their list of targets as they look to complete their shopping close to home ahead of another title defence.
In conversation with Football FanCast, ex-Celtic star Kenny Miller spoke highly about one of those targets, predicting bids will arrive before long.
Miller believes offer coming for “outstanding” Celtic target
The former striker sat down with FFC and spoke about Scotland’s World Cup performance, potential summer arrivals in Glasgow and the future of Motherwell’s Elijah Just.
Miller believes that an offer is coming for the “outstanding” Just, with Motherwell facing a fight to keep hold of their talented winger in the coming months. Whether it’s Celtic who win that race remains to be seen, however.
“It’s no surprise to see either Rangers or Celtic linked with these types of players, because Motherwell had four or five guys who had outstanding seasons and it’s a natural thing. I think with what’s gone on with Just at the World Cup, it would be surprising if Motherwell didn’t have a few bids in for him.”
It’s hard to argue against that verdict, either. Just enjoyed an excellent campaign in the Scottish Premiership, scoring seven goals and setting up another eight in all competitions.
Since then, the 26-year-old has taken that form into the World Cup, scoring an impressive goal for New Zealand against Iran in their opening game.
Signing rival stars has been the theme of the summer transfer window in Scotland and Celtic could get in on the act in emphatic fashion if they sign Just from Motherwell.

What’s being said about Elijah Just to Celtic?
Miller was certainly on the right track when speaking about Just. According to Daily Record, Celtic have been watching the winger for the last six months and are expected to launch a move for his signature this summer.
Motherwell are likely to demand a hefty fee, but amid rumours that Arne Engels could yet leave for around £25m, the Bhoys could have money to spend ahead of next season. Whether they get a free run at Just is another question, however, with Rangers’ interest potentially complicating things.
Why Celtic are targeting Just
In terms of attacking quality, it doesn’t get much better than Just in the Scottish Premiership these days. The New Zealand international has just shown that quality on the world stage and has done everything to earn a big move.
After a season of relying on Benjamin Nygren to score the goals, before Daizen Maeda finally got the business done when it mattered most, O’Neill could do with another talisman.
There would be no need for a settling-in period for Just. He knows he can perform in the Premiership and has looked destined for the top in the last 12 months.
