£50m World Cup star now desperate to sign for Man Utd

Any Manchester United supporters who watched Amad Diallo’s performance in the World Cup against Norway should have been left feeling proud of his efforts.

The left-footed winger scored a brilliant goal for his country, keeping his balance in the box to score under pressure, before Erling Haaland went on to score the winner.

Despite the Ivory Coast’s exit from the tournament at the last 32 stage, Amad can be proud that he scored two goals in four games for his nation in the last few weeks.

His performances for his country came after he only scored two goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils in the 2025/26 campaign, which was a disappointing return for the forward.

The 23-year-old winger only delivered two goals and three assists in 32 Premier League matches for United, and will be hoping to add more consistency to his game next term.

Supporters know what the Ivorian wing wizard is capable of because he racked up 11 goals and eight assists in 43 games in the 2024/25 campaign, showing that he can offer goals and assists on a regular basis when he is at his best.

Now, the club are looking at bringing in another winger who is like Amad and has the potential to be an excellent addition to the squad for Michael Carrick.

According to The Touchline on X, Manchester United target Crysencio Summerville has made it clear that he wants to sign for the club in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the Netherlands international has told his representatives that he wants to make the move to Old Trafford after West Ham United were relegated from the Premier League.

It adds that the winger views Old Trafford as the ‘ultimate destination’ because he believes that he can compete to win Premier League and Champions League trophies with the club.Previous reports have claimed that the Red Devils have already opened talks with the Hammers to explore a deal for the forward, who could cost a fee of around £50m this summer.

United already have one diminutive and explosive winger on the right side in Amad, who needs to add more consistency to his game, and they could be about to bring in a similar player on the other flank.

Whilst the Ivorian magician is a left-footed right winger, Summerville predominantly plays off the left wing so that he can cut in on his favoured right foot to score and create goals.

The Dutchman showcased his quality coming in off the left during his time at the World Cup before the Netherlands were knocked out by Morocco at the end of last month.

He even outperformed Amad at the tournament because he added two assists to go along with his two goals in four appearances, averaging one goal contribution per match for his country.

His performances at the World Cup should give United faith that he will be able to add more output to his game after making the step up to Old Trafford, after he only scored five goals and provided two assists in the Premier League with West Ham.

Summerville was unable to score goals on a regular basis in a team that was ultimately relegated from the division, but he did score 20 goals in 46 games for Leeds United in the 2023/24 campaign in a team that competed at the top of the Championship.

The 24-year-old winger’s form for the Netherlands and for Leeds in the past shows that he thrives in teams that are competitve and play attacking football with quality players around him, rather than in a struggling Hammers side.

That is why he could be an excellent signing for United because they just qualified for the Champions League under Carrick and should be expected to be one of the contenders at the top of the Premier League next term.

In Amad and Summerville, Carrick could have two wingers who are primed to have breakthrough seasons next year if they can add more consistency to their play in the final third, which is an exciting prospect for the Red Devils.
